Richards Bay Diving

Cory Versluis recently sent me some pics of fish he and some mates took up that way. Cory, an ex-Port Elizabeth diver got a nice ignobilis of 23 kg and Frans Botes took a 17 kg cuda.

Cory also had a dive on Protea Banks on the Natal south coast recently and had speared a large kakaap (green jobfish)estimated at 15 kg but it got tangled on the bottom and later it was snacked by a shark.

He also encountered a marlin of around 100kgs later but could not get it.

On a dive at Lighthouse Reef near St Lucia they took a few more fish.

Cory, smiling now, stands beside Johan Jacobs showing their catch.

St Lucia is in my opinion an excellent divesite with great fish but is prone to dirty water.
Numerous large marlin have been taken there and plenty of big cob, kingfish and of course cuda and sailfish.
