Spearfishing a red stumpnose in Algoa Bay, Port ELizabeth, South Africa

Back in the days when diving was a regular activity I tried a spot in the bay and took a bank steenbras and on the very next dive I encountered a red stumpnose. It was swimming a bit off the bottom above the chilly thermocline.
I edged closer minimizing, eye contact, and the striped red and white fish was in range...

Looking at the forecast, I am going to sharpen some hooks for the weekend! It's about time my son got a nice big cob or geelbek.
