State of the sea

Well yesterday the bay looked brown enough to drive out to one reef by vehicle rather than by boat. The repetitive breakthrough of thermoclines after easterlies has bloomed the plankton into thick soup. Fortunately we are located at a point where upwelling patterns are more complex than along an essentially linear coastline so often there is an upwelling on either the inside or outside of the Algoa Bay permitting some viz to be found.
At the moment the west is fresh after yesterday's easterly.
Let's see what the later week brings for a dive...
